The founders of Dog Gone Tired Sanctuary and Rescue began their love affair with boxers over 20+ years ago. As core rescue volunteers, they came to recognize the critical and ever growing need for a safe haven for dogs typically considered “unadoptable”. Together, they dreamt that one day they would create one.
In 2012, 2.5 acres were purchased in serene Aqua Dulce, CA. Resources were pooled and ground broke to build an environment in which these wonderful animals could live out their lives in peace, joy and comfort. After many months of hard work, the founders’ collective dream was realized and these special animals were welcomed to the facility.
