Connie and Friends
In 2001, I had a profound realization about the over-breeding of dogs and the overwhelming number of them in need of assistance. Feeling compelled to take action but unsure where to start, I turned to books for guidance. That’s when I discovered the Boxer breed and felt a strong inclination to get involved. After delving into research on rescue efforts, I found a Boxer Rescue organization struggling to keep up with the demand for help.
Witnessing their unwavering dedication and hard work was eye-opening. It became impossible for me to ignore the pressing need any longer. I knew that to create real change, I had to actively participate and make a difference. Years of volunteering with the rescue introduced me to Toni and the dogs she had been tirelessly working with. Witnessing the hardships these dogs endured and their urgent needs deeply affected me. It was then that I realized the importance of giving harder-to-place dogs a chance at a better life.
This realization led to the creation of Dog Gone Tired, a sanctuary dedicated to providing these deserving dogs with the care and love they deserve. I felt a profound sense of duty to assist Toni in making this sanctuary a reality. Every dog, regardless of their past or challenges, deserves a chance at happiness, and I was determined to help make that happen.
I wholeheartedly believed in Toni’s vision for the sanctuary and was driven by a strong commitment to see it through. Together, we’re not just offering a safe haven for dogs in need, but also inspiring others to join us in our mission to make a positive impact in the lives of animals. My journey is a testament to the power of compassion and determination in effecting change. I’m grateful for the opportunity to make a difference and continue advocating for the well-being of all dogs.
